Glazing Services Cambridge
Broken panes are a common issue and pose security risks. We pride ourselves on our fast service and ability to provide a professional and excellent quality re-glaze service. Upon arrival we will determine the accurate dimensions and specification of the glass and will install a British Standard quality replacement to those specifications. We aim to fit single glazed glass panes the same day however certain types of glass (e.g. patterned door panels) and double glazed units require ordering from our suppliers and fitting when ready. We can fit glass with a wide difference in size, specification and height. As the glass is fitted externally in the majority of cases ladders, scaffolding or cherry pickers are used for higher levels to ensure the glass is fitted correctly.

If the glass is broken in the night-time re-glazing would not be possible so an emergency board up service is utilised instead. We can apply a secure plywood board either temporarily or permanently over the broken panel for your property’s protection until a re-glaze is either possible or desired by yourself. We carry a number of boards and can cut it to size at the property and fit for you.
As well as glass work, we offer an extensive framework repair and replacement service. The replacement services range provided are flexible, whether it is the replacement of a few faulty doors or window components or replacement of full windows and doors. Our professional and skilled glaziers will ensure we gain the necessary information at the property and then quote if we have not already done so. The parts are sourced and ordered and fit when ready.
Is your window pane a form of plastic instead? A make of plastic is known as polycarbonate (also known as Perspex.) We can fit a replacement piece and aim for a same day service for fitting. As with windows we will measure the Perspex and fit it to the correct specifications in either clear or obscured.
A different service which is often preferred is to have a unit with additional heat insulation capacity. This is conventionally tackled through either filling double glazed units with argon or by supply and fitting a low emissivity pane (also known as K-glass.) We aim for a fast service for both of these services; the glass is ordered and fitted upon completion.
If you would like glass which obscures the interior from the outside or a type of glass which insulates from the heat we can apply film to new glass before installing it in the frame. We have very trusted suppliers who provide film made to fit the pane of glass which our glaziers carefully apply.
